KOROZY

Korozy were formed in 1994 in Burgas, the largest Black Sea town in Bulgaria, and have proven to be one of the best Black Metal bands in the country. From their inception they have been a very rounded professional act and have been at the core of the extreme scene in Bulgaria to a level never seen before.

They have drawn their inspiration from other bands like Arcturus, Emperor and Dimmu Borgir and have managed to build up their own unique style within symphonic metal. You will not find many other bands who manage to give such lavish space to keyboards but not forsaking their basic aggression and raw power.

Each of their albums “Inscription” (1997), “Long Road to the Land of Black” (1999) and “From the Cradle to the Grave” (2001) has marked a natural and confident step forward. Listening to any of them you will not find even one superfluous tune or a mediocre track. Boiling over with emotions every song is remarkable for its catchy riffs, infectious moods and burning energy.

“From the Cradle to the Grave” launched the band into international scene. It has been officially distributed in countries including Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Russia, United Kingdom and USA. The German ‘Legacy’ magazine was the first that brought attention to the band, making a flattering review of the album (13/15 rate) and featuring KOROZY in the Newcomer’s section. Similar reactions followed from everywhere and even the ‘big guns’ like Orkus (7/10) and Rock Hard (8/10) gave surprisingly favourable reviews.

But the feel of the darkness, brutality and symphony are even more powerful when KOROZY play live. What comes naturally to these guys many other bands and performers never achieve. Everyone who’s seen them live is unanimous that the band not just performs but rather burns on stage. The crowd always gets involved and brings back the whole powerful feeling twice. Sweet moments that every band dreams of…

More active then ever, recently KOROZY have mainly concentrated on their live activities. They opened the shows of many great metal bands who came in Bulgaria, including Ancient, Vader, Catamenia, etc.

In the Spring of 2005 the band accomplished their first European tour, which brought them a warm acceptance and a great recognition by foreign audiences as well. As a result they were invited to go back for more dates later this year.

After a long recording pause in 2004 KOROZY entered the studio to record 4 completely new tracks, with the help of Alessandro Azzali (producer of ANCIENT, NIGHT-IN-GAILS, etc.) The new material develops further band’s trademark: the traditional atmospheric sound has now been enriched further by the beautiful Bulgarian folklore influence as well as some unusual industrial sounds.

New>>> During the last few years the band got more calm in terms of live and recording activities as some of its members had to focus on their booking agency Most of Evil Music, which organized a lot of memorable lives of world famous bands in Bulgaria. In the meanwhile KOROZY managed to do a couple of tours throughout Europe, gathering crowds of exalted fans in Serbia, Romania, Poland, Austria and Germany.
